On the day following the American Dreamcast price slash, amazing news has emerged that Sega of Japan has recalled the final shipment of Dreamcast units to the US, back to its own market.

News reports state that Sega Japan has requested that 70% of all 60 Hz Dreamcast units in existence must be shipped back to Japan to be converted to Japanese spec.

Though the amount of recalled hardware is unknown, it is estimated that there are around 40,000 consoles in Japan and 230,000 in the States that have yet to ship to retail. Sega of Japan is said to have seen "considerable growth" in the level of interest shown in the Dreamcast in recent months.
