OnLive to be Integrated into TVs, Tablets and Blu-ray
Cloud gaming service OnLive launched in the UK yesterday to some serious interest from players across the country - and the company will be integrating the technology into TVs, iPads and Blu-ray players in the future to ensure it gets even more popular.

"We've had a tremendous response. The UK market has whole embraced this new generation of gaming," said Director of Corporate Communications Brian Jaquet, although he said no subscriber figures were available at this time. Naturally, he pointed to the fact that OnLive micro consoles were being given away as a big factor of this.

"We’re being very aggressive about this, absolutely. I think we need to do this because we’re still a new platform and we know we need to put things out there that will get customers into the fold. We’re very confident that once they’re in the fold that they’ll be really engaged with the service. Maybe they'll become evangelists!"

Jaquet added that the company is not resting on its laurels, and that integration into other electronics such as TVs and tablets will help carry the OnLive brand forward. "We know that obviously to be more successful we need to also expand the distribution of that.

"Put it into TVs, put into next generation Blu-ray players, so that when you buy it... Maybe your next TV has LoveFilm, Spotify integrated, and also has OnLive. And all you need to buy as a customer is one of our new universal wireless controllers, which will allow you to play not only on your TV but also on your tablet. So we think that exposure alone will help us build awareness, brand recognition."

We've seen a demonstration of the OnLive service running on an Android tablet and it was running incredibly smoothly. No date has been set for the OnLive gaming experience on tablets, but when it's all announced we'll be sure to let you know.
