Sony has upped its digital security personnel following the hack that affected its 70 million PlayStation Network. It's appointed former Deputy Undersecretary of the Department of Homeland Security’s National Protection and Programs Directorate (NPPD), Philip Reitinger as its Chief Information Security Officer.According to
Reuters "Philip Reitinger, previously director of the U.S. National Cyber Security Center, will become senior vice president and will report to general counsel Nicole Seligman, the Japanese electronics conglomerate said on Tuesday."
A unnamed Sony spokesman said, "Certainly the network issue was a catalyst for the appointment. We are looking to bolster our network security even further."
Interestingly, Reitinger has also worked for Microsoft.
