Japanese Video Game Chart: Nintendo Keeps its Rhythm
Price cuts seem to be doing the Japanese video game market a world of good, as Nintendo enjoys a second week at the top of the hardware tree with over 100,000 3DS units sold and Sony’s PS3 sees a boost of nearly 10,000 units.

Hardware Chart - Home Console
PS3: 29,666 (20,239)
Wii: 18,256 (19,607)
360: 1,427 (1,576)

Hardware Chart - Handheld

Meanwhile, Rhythm Heaven reclaims the #1 spot in the Japanese Video Game Chart (courtesy Media Create, week ending 21st August) on the software side, as the excitement of new games die down and things get churned around a bit.

There are two new entries in the Top 10 however, in Compile Heart’s Super Dimensional Game Neptune mk2 (with added Keiji Inafune) and Atlus’ Growlanser IV Over Reloaded. Further down the software chart, love/adventure games Amnesia and Bunmei Kaika Aoiza Ibunroku debut at #13 and #15 respectively.
