If you're the kind of guy who's going to be posting footage of Gears of War 3 before its release, watch out. Epic is after you, with a big pointy banning stick. The studio has threatened players with a network ban if they "find proof" of leaking videos early. a spokesperson told
IGN that "If Epic finds proof that someone has posted leaked Gears of War 3 gameplay footage, that person will be banned from Gears of War 3 networked play, which includes co-op and arcade campaign, Horde, Beast, and competitive multiplayer modes."
Executive producer Rod Fergusson said in a recent
Eurogamer interview, "We have a banning system built into our stuff so we can go in and identify certain people. Some people aren't smart about what they do. They'll be disappointed on 20th September when they can't get in and can't play. They may be banned."
Threatening words indeed. Think you're gonna risk it, should a copy fall into your hands?
