Activision Nails It: Why Gaming is in the Doldrums
Apparently there is hand-wringing in the games industry at the moment. It's doubtful if that wringing of hands is in the mobile sector, but Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg has the analysis as to why it's happening in the console and PC-bound world.

"Despite all the hand-wringing in our industry right now, people aren't gaming less.

"In fact, they're gaming more than ever. They're just doing it with fewer games, and they're spending more time playing those games than ever before."

Yes, indeed fewer games. More sequels and tie-ins, just fewer actual games.

Mr H' also points out that, "Call of Duty has more players who pay-to-play online than any Facebook game and our players pay more per player on average than any Facebook game.

"They're also more engaged - the percentage of Call of Duty's monthly unique players that play the game every day is higher than that of the top three Facebook games."

Meanwhile, we're off to play Magnetic Billiards.

Endtimes: downloading a 30 minute long game chock full of product placement, paying to stream the online multiplayer component every time you log in where you pay a monthly subscription for further perks and maps. And the public will love it.
