Driver San Francisco Needs Always-On Internet
Oh, Ubisoft. You would have thought it had learned its lesson with permanent internet connections and PC games. But not so. It's confirmed that you'll need one to play Driver: San Francisco on your PC.

'Community Developer' for the game, Mathieu Willem has tweeted, "PC version requires permanent internet connection."

He also let the world know that, "You can play offline on Xbox360 and PS3. Online Uplay Passport activation required (once) for multiplayer and bonus features."

@ghoti I can't really see what the issue is here. We all have always on Internet. The game is astoundingly good... It's annoying but it's not worth missing out for.

For me it is the idea of being very short on money and not being able to afford the internet bill from time to time because other things in life takes priority.. (and I for one can vouch for this) meaning if this happens then we cannot play the game that we bought unless I am mistaken in what I just read.. This might be "PC only" for now but imagine if this tactic became more mainstream for companies then this would be a problem for any gamers who cannot afford the services of say Sky or Virgin.

As for the game its self.. I have never played a Driver game.. but I definitely understand anyone's frustration with the idea of losing the internet and not being able to play the game they bought.. simple matter is, is that money is tighter than ever in this day and age and video games still sting the wallet let alone paying an on-going subscription.. A simple example is the Mortgage and even Food for that matter..
