Who saw this coming? The CEO of the Pokemon Company has hinted that new games featuring the Pocket Monsters are on their way to 3DS and DS gamers - one could arrive as early as later this year.
Tsunekazu Ishihara had a sit-down with Japanese tome Famitsu and said that there are additional projects in the works that will aim to surprise players in the second half of 2011.
So far, Japanese fans have had the downloadable 3DS title Pokedex 3D (also available in the West) and are awaiting the release of Pokemon Scramble later this month.
It's suggested that the new Pokemon project will feature some kind of connectivity between Nintendo's 3DS and DS platforms, meaning a version for each console may be in the works.
