The Japanese Video Game Chart results are in (week ending 10th July, courtesy Media Create) and there?s a lot of love for Western talent as Team Bondi and Rockstar?s detective game L.A. Noire has taken the #1 spot. It must have been all that love Hideo Kojima was gushing on Twitter some time ago.

The 1940s detective thriller sold more than 70,000 copies across the PS3 and Xbox 360 platforms for the week, with the PS3 version specifically grabbing top position. Sony performs well with Sucker Punch?s inFAMOUS 2 responsible for a second surprise in the Japanese Top 10 - a #2 debut position. Eurocom?s Goldeneye 007 remake re-entered the chart at #9 too.
Things are looking a little healthier on the hardware side of things, as the PS3 shifts over 22,000 units during the week compared to just nearly 17,000 a couple of weeks ago. The Wii also breaks the 13,000 mark. The PSP still leads the portable gaming chart by a good few thousand units, but on the other end of the scale the PSP Go sold a paltry 34 units last week. When will the suffering end!?
