There are reliable murmurings in the games industry that Nintendo and Namco have been quietly at work on a little project that will see GameCube technologies deployed into an arcade system.
Apparently, the arcade hardware is finished and there is already a game running on it. And that game? It’s Soul Calibur 2, the seminal fighting sequel that was recently previewed in Tokyo.
This is the latest in a series of stories that collectively seem to suggest that the big players in the industry think there is plenty of life, and more importantly money, in public pay-to-play gaming.
