Post E3 and pre-GamesCom always results in game news sites rummaging around for things to fill the gaps. The latest rumour to float is, of course, PS4 for next year.
IndustryGamers reports that, "industry sources (at a top developer) who wished not to be quoted that Sony is looking to unveil a PlayStation 4 sometime next year as well."
Well, aside from 'industry sources' being one source, what else do we have to underpin the rumour. Why, quotes from analysts.
"I think it's unlikely [that PS4 will be announced in 2012]", says Michael Pachter. Hold on, 'unlikey'?
Colin Sebastian, formerly of Lazard Capital, he doesn't think there's going to be a PS4 next year either, "I think Sony introducing Vita at a low price point and likely lowering the PS3 price later this year will ultimately provide a gauge on the overall health of the PlayStation business."
So, yes, well, it's a rumour.
