There are reports surfacing that Nintendo of America has levied a charge to retailers, for supplying and installing promotional GameCube booths in both chain stores and independents, of $2000 per kiosk.
It is well known that both Sony and Microsoft made absolutely no charge to retail for the supply and installation of PlayStation 2 and Xbox booths.
There are fears amongst the GameCube fanbase that this somewhat hefty charge will deter support at retail level, damaging the console’s chances of success.
Nintendo is expected to comment in the next few days.
