E3 2011: The Wii Vitality Sensor has been put on hold due to inconsistencies with the technology.
Shigeru Miyamoto was asked what happened to the upcoming peripheral at last night's Nintendo Roundtable at E3. He was a bit taken back, but after gathering his thoughts he revealed that the device simply isn't ready for prime time.
"Development on it has continued but what we found was that the device sometimes has a hard time performing consistently in a variety of different conditions and environments," he said.
"Because of that, we don't feel we can release it in this state. But we continue to work on it and hope to launch it some time in the future."
