Just when you thought that Sony had managed to plug any insecurities in its Playstation Network so that users details couldn't be compromised, it appears that a web-based hole has opened up whereby users can find their PSN passwords changed without their knowledge by third-parties.The
nyleveia site first uncovered the shocking error by Sony this morning. It contacted the company, which as you can see from the image in this story, has taken its web-based
PSN sites offline for maintenance.
The exploit, which as been confirmed by
Neogaf users means only that Sony's related PSN websites are compromised at this time. Sony tweeted a clarification earlier which states: "Clarification: this maintenance doesn't affect PSN on consoles, only the website you click through to from the password change email."
More when we hear.
