Modern Warfare 3 Rumour Mill Goes Into Overdrive

Activision has set a date for its pre-E3 UK press event - and Modern Warfare 3 is high on the list of titles to be confirmed.

The last couple of days has seen the rumour mill churn with reckless abandon, pumping out alleged box artwork and logos all over the place. A supposed logo for something called "Call of Duty Elite" has also been doing the rounds. The internet rages with mass-debation as to whether the pictures are fake or not.

Meanwhile, Kotaku reports - via "sources" of course - that the game will pick up from the events of Modern Warfare 2 and could be developed by Infinity Ward with assistance from Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software.

It will also be "bigger" and take place on a "much large scale," but we're not sure that really counts for any considerable amount of star-gazing.

Activision has traditionally hosted a pre-E3 event in London to give the press a chance to discover the publisher's upcoming products before getting drowned in the lights and buzz of LA in June. Regardless of whether Modern Warfare 3 is announced here, there will no doubt be a selection of interesting games raring for a 2011/2012 release.
