Dead or Alive: Dimensions is being described as a 'reboot' by Team Ninja boss Yosuke Hayashi. But with a focus on fighting on the 3DS, is there any time left for ogling at wobbling boobs? Fortunately, it seems like games such as Dead or Alive Paradise and Xtreme Beach Volleyball will still be made in the future. So a rather loose use of the term 'reboot' then, seeings as
Dimensions doesn't exactly do anything new or outrageous to the traditional fighting formula. According to Hayashi, the mediocrity of the spinoff games hasn't deterred the studio from making more in the future.
"The main identity of
Dead or Alive is fighting, but of course women are also an important aspect, so we will continue that element of the series in the future," the studio head said. "Even though this is a reboot, we will still be taking that aspect of the franchise with us."
We also tried to ask for more details about
Ninja Gaiden 3, but were halted at the last second. Bugger.
