Looks like the fight on Call of Duty: Black Ops is about to 'escalate' (cue audible groans from the audience), with the announcement of the game's second downloadable content pack, 'Escalation.'
Arriving on Xbox Live on the 3rd May - and PlayStation Network some considerable time after, no doubt - Escalation will feature four new multiplayer maps in Zoo, Convoy, Hotel and Stockpile. There'll also be a new zombie-based experience for you to sink your teeth into. Call of the Dead it's, erm, called.
The arrival of new DLC is hardly surprising, given that it's a big meal ticket for Activision - BLOPS' first pack, First Strike, broke Xbox Live records in selling 1.4 million downloads in 24 hours.
Treyarch boss Mark Lamia didn't really give anything away in the announcement, but did say that "in crafting the Escalation multiplayer maps the team developed them to be distinct experiences in their own right, giving players the variety they crave in both setting and gameplay." How nice.
