SegaNet plays its first hand in the game of online gaming supremacy
Sega Corp has made concrete the first details of SegaNet in its latest incarnation as an all singing all dancing online gaming ISP.

The company has outlined its pricing point for unlimited access, which has been chiseled out at $9.99 per month, a figure that will most likely be converted 1:1 Sterling when SegaNet fully launches in Europe.

Sega also stated that Phantasy Star Online will remain free to play online for the foreseeable future, as the game is hosted on servers that are not part of the SegaNet infrastructure.

The all new SegaNet is aiming to become the forum for online gaming and will be competing directly against Squaresoft’s PlayOnline network. Sega is hoping that a competitive rate together with instant messaging, organised tournaments and community feel will win over punters.
