Apparently t'll look even better on iPad 2
EA Mobile has announced that its release of Dead Space on iPad 2 will be even better than you might have expected. Says EA, "Critically acclaimed iOS game available today with enhanced graphics for iPad 2".
The official blurb states that:
"Electronic Arts is offering an update to its critically acclaimed action-horror Dead Space game created specifically for the iPad 2."
But there's more, "The faster core and graphics capabilities of the iPad 2 open up possibilities to reach new levels of quality in EA’s games never before seen in a portable device like this."
How is it enhanced? "Working closely with Visceral Games, EA Mobile development studio IronMonkey Studios created a unique story and gameplay experience for iOS gamers."
Again, how is it 'enhanced'?
Like this apparently:
- "Visual quality improvements exclusive to the iPad 2."
- "Look sensitivity and Y-axis inversion deliver greater player control..."
- "A fully voice-acted stereo soundtrack, along with an orchestrated score and sound effects..."

There'll be use of anti-aliasing and shaders and other visual polish.
I do wonder, however, what part of the graphical performance is 9x better? Benchmarks show game engines are going to see about 3-7x
