The emphasis on coverage of the Japanese earthquake and consequent tsunami that hit late last week should be on the human cost to that nation. As a video games website with no reporters in situ, however, it's our job to leave that reportage to mainstream outlets. We will report delays and cancellations to games in Japan however. So far, we are aware of the following:
Motorstorm Apocalypse has been delayed indefinitely. This is obviously due to its use of earthquakes in gameplay.
Irem has cancelled
Disaster Report 4 completely.
SEGA has delayed
Yakuza Of the End.
Capcom has delayed DLC for
Marvel vs Capcom 3 Jill and
Shuma-Gorath.
In related news, Microsoft has delayed its Kinect tour - the 'Kinect Experience Caravan Car Event', which was to commence on March 19th in Hiroshima.
Also, in order to conserve precious energy in Square Enix has suspended servers for
Final Fantasy XI and
XIV. While Konami has done the same for
Metal Gear Online.
