As the GAME Group (Game and Gamestation) joints supermarkets such as ASDA in slashing the price of Nintendo's 3DS to sub-£200 (£197 in Game's online store) due to what must be seen as a lack of consumer interest, one UK retailer leader has spoken up.CHIPS joint MD Don McCabe explained to
MCV that price cutting on the device is, "a problem because the price war leads the customer to believe it’s a £199 machine. That will make retailers such as ourselves less inclined to stock it because we will make less money from it.
“If I have to discount the 3DS by £30 just to sell one, then it’s costing me money. There’s no real profit there.”
The price of a 3DS in Game's High Street locations is £229.99.
