Alan Wake Co-Founder Quits for Angry Birds
One of the founders of Remedy Entertainment has Alan Woken up and left the studio to join Angry Birds outfit Rovio Mobile.

Petri Järvilehto has flung himself over to the fellow Finnish company to become Senior Vice President of Console Development. The Angry Birds franchise is set to take on home platforms in a big way beyond PSN Minis, it seems.

"We want to make Angry Birds a long lasting global gaming franchise, and we see the console platforms as a way of delivering an even more entertaining, powerful and involving experience," said Mikael Hed, CEO of Rovio. "Petri has an outstanding track record and we’re thrilled to have him take the lead of our console development."

Petri has previously worked on the Max Payne series as well as initial game design for Alan Wake, the ill-fated Xbox 360 exclusive that was bit of a noise about nothing really. We don't mind Angry Birds either, but is a new flood of branded games really a good idea? We're starting to get a bit sick of it now. What you do reckon, readers?

Well, for those who've never had a chance to play it, the more platforms it's on, the better.

Having said that, I don't like it when they put games that are clearly designed around certain hardware (in this case a touch screen) and do a half arsed job of the conversion (which according to a review I read of the PSP version of this, it seems they did). Makes it seem a lot more like a cynical cash in.
