Guerrilla Games has told SPOnG that it's the daddy when it comes to online game community clan support. Killzone 3 producer Steven Terheide went so far as to state that prequel Killzone 2 is "pretty much unrivalled" as a console clan experience. We can assume that sentiment also extends to Killzone 3."There's no other game that has as extensive a clan support that we have," Terheide told SPOnG in an interview published today. "That's combined with the Killzone.com website companion to the game, where you can find a lot of stats and see bragging rights along with leaderboards."
The developer isn't resting on its laurels though, with plans to extend the clan functionality in
Killzone 3 and bring party options to the table for the first time. "The party system is something that’s new for
Killzone 3... we added [it] because the social aspect of gameplay is key.
That wasn't the only reason though - Steven ter Heide revealed that Guerrilla took a battering from fans demanding the feature be included after it was absent in
Killzone 2. "We had a lot of complaints from
Killzone 2. People were saying, 'There’s no party system! I can’t stay together with my friends in one game! There’s no way to invite my friends!' We listened to all those concerns."
