In a move that could add even more goodness to the PS3's Lovefilm app, the European movie and video game rental service is soon to be bought by Internet uber-giant, Amazon for an undisclosed sum.
We've been made aware that the current management team at Lovefilm will remain in place. We're also advised that the LoveFilm service will remain a LoveFilm branded one.
Even better is that the company is planning for bigger things once the deal is completed.
LoveFilm CEO Simon Calver states that, "The deal is a winner for the members who love LoveFilm because of its value, choice, convenience and innovation in home entertainment. With Amazon’s unequivocal support we can significantly enhance our members’ experience across Europe."
The deal is said to close in "the first quarter of 2011".
