Sledgehammer Games has posted job listings for three positions at the studio, as the deadline for its first Call of Duty game draws near.Activision formally revealed that the San Francisco-based team was working on the next iteration of its blockbuster FPS franchise
back in March last year. But with the studio seeking a
temporary Development Manager,
Community Manager and temporary User Testing Co-ordinator, it would seem that crunch time is upon them.
"Sledgehammer Games is actively recruiting top industry talent to join the
Call of Duty FPS development team," the postings read. The temporary manager's role will be to oversee level development specifically, offering "support from concept to release." The Community Manager role aims to mirror the success seen between Infinity Ward's relationship with
Modern Warfare fans.
The User Testing Coordinator has the stressful "responsibility for ensuring Sledgehammer Games delivers a 95+ rated
Call of Duty game meeting the high expectations of gamers today." No pressure, then. On the flip-side, the listing states that this role is great for an entry-level jump into video games development.
Besides Activision's acknowledgement of Sledgehammer's existence in 2010, nothing has been said of the upcoming
Call of Duty title, expected to release later this year. No doubt E3 will be one of the events used to spill all the beans. We'll keep you posted.
