A recent runthrough of the classic FPS Quake shows one confident individual beating the title in ultra quick fashion. Within 52 minutes to be precise.
Named 'Quake done 100% Quickest', the run through sees the player complete Quake on its Nightmare difficulty setting, completing the levels as quickly as possible, shooting all monsters and finding all of the game's secrets. The video is regarded as a sequel to 'Quake done 100% Quicker', originally released on January 5th, 2000.
Video editor of the speed run, Jozsef Szalontai, explained that:
"The project was planned to be released on December 24th, 2008 but this failed to happen. When I showed the QdQst movie to Thomas which I created a month ago, he asked me if I could turn the 100% version into a movie as well. It took me about a month to do all the captures and compress them into the 5 versions of the movie."
You can check the video out below if you have the spare time. It is a quite time of year after all.
Very nice to see this game again.. the memories i had playing Quake.. only makes me wish that they would port Quake 1 to Xbox live arcade (and the PSN) with minor upgrades just like Quake arena arcade which was released on the xbox 360.
