Director on the weapon-dueling Soul Calibur series of games, Daishi Odashima, has excited fans by tweeting something very interesting on his Twitter account.
The tweet reads"SC (Soul Calibur) is back! Get ready, fans!" together with a photo of Odashima at his work desk, displaying a couple of rough sketches of weapons that may be used in the next in the series.
Not much more is known right now but with the release of Marvel vs Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds and Mortal Kombat next year as well as confirmation that Street Fighter x Tekken from Capcom and Tekken X Street Fighter from Namco Bandai are on their way, now seems a popular time for fighting games in the market.

Soul Calibur 4 felt like an insult to the franchise with the addition of darth vader and yoda alongside the anime-style characters, they felt completely out of place and pissed all over the atmosphere of the game. (the likes of link and spawn from SC2 is weird enough but come on...)
I also hated how there was no travel map as it made the single player alot more interesting (reading about the events on the map etc) instead of stage after stage.
In short.. ill be excited once they realise what made the franchise popular in the first place and how they can continue and expand the franchise without the shock value of characters that have absolutely no place within the game.

Id rather pick up a DC and Soul Calibur prolly cheaper too.
