Ever outspoken analyst, Michael Pachter, has weighed in on the prospects of a successor to Nintendo's Wii. Unsurprisingly, his comments are uncouth to say the least. The infamous Wedbush Securities analyst was asked if he saw Nintendo striking first when the next console generation comes around. Pachter replied that he rather expects that Kyoto-based company to strike last with its next console (compared with Sony and Microsoft), adding that:
"I think that their next console will be on par technologically with the current PS3 and Xbox 360, and don't expect them to advance technology at all with their next offering."
Pachter was also asked his opinion on the mixed reviews
Epic Mickey has received recently, Activision staying away from iPhone and social gaming, whether Nintendo will ever get serious about online gaming and the most important industry trends and announcements to come in 2011 (Pachter mentioned the 3DS and OnLive as highlights for the upcoming year).
Do you agree with Pachter's predictions? Or do you think the analyst is throwing out unsubstantiated claims yet again? Any thoughts, feel free to post them down below.
