Alone in the Dark the movie goes into production

Dimension films has announced that it has acquired the rights to make a full motion picture of Infogrames’ old skool survival horror game Alone in the Dark.
This news comes as no surprise as it seems that any game with cinematic potential has been snaffled up by film companies, eager to have a film concept delivered to them on a plate.
What is interesting, however, is the fact that the game will be going head to head with several other game tie-in movies from the same genre of game. Resident Evil and House of the Dead have both been snapped up by film companies, and it looks like all three will be going head to head (to decapitated head!).
