Silent Hill: Revelation 3D Director Talks
The director of Silent Hill: Revelation 3D, Michael J Bassett, has shared some details on the soon to be released sequel to the original film released back in 2006.

Although he could not reveal the whole plot of the upcoming film, it will try to remain true to the plot of Silent Hill 3 with the new film sequel but it will also be accessible to those who know little to nothing of the survival-horror franchise.

The sceenplay for the film is also being pulled together by Bassett himself and fellow writers as opposed to the screenwriter on the previous film, Roger Avary. Bassett explained that it took a long time to bring the script to completion, that he had to revisit the games and also read every piece of material behind the world of Silent Hill.

Bassett added in his own view of the franchise that "I love the complexity and psychological twists that [game company] Konami created, so will do my best to honour that."

"I'm determined to deliver a movie that... gives the audience more nuanced characters, a compelling story, and some terrifying new monsters... as well as bringing back a few favourites..."

Shooting for Silent Hill: Revelation 3D is due to start this Winter in Toronto, Canada. The first Silent Hill film was a decent adaptation of the game series and all we can say is give us more. Any ideas of what you would like to see in the new Silent Hill film? Feel free to post them in the Comments section below.

Lets hope he makes a good job of it. This is a franchise that deserves respect, unlike the Resident Evil films which have frankly become a joke and could have been much better.
Would have personally liked to have seen silent hill 2 story brought to the big screen but 3 was good too. Silent Hill for me is probably the best game to film adaptation I have seen and one of my favourite films. Maybe thats because I have very fond memories of playing silent hill on my ps1 in the dark with the sound on loud when i was at university.

Watch some David lynch movies. that's the direction you need to go in.

Great to hear that Avery isn't penning the new SH movie. I thought his script and plot were the worst parts of the film. I'm not sure what he was thinking with the plot changes. Why not stick to the original story? It was a confusing mess.
