NPD show franchises' success
New figures on game sales for the financial year to date show some impressive numbers, among those being Master Chief and Mario in their flagship titles, Halo: Reach and New Super Mario Bros. Wii.
The figures from analyst group NPD show a chart of the top-selling for the year to date in the US with the top 10 SKUs (games) detailed.
Bungie-developed shooter Halo: Reach takes the top spot for the most sales in 2010, shifting 3.29 million units in September alone with New Super Mario Bros. Wii right behind in 2nd place.
Titles such as God of War III, Just Dance and Red Dead Redemption also take slots in the high-performing chart with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 surprisingly in 8th place despite being the best-selling game of all time in the UK.
Looks like renowned FPSs and platforming hijinks are the flavours of the gaming day among current gamers.
