A spot of gumshoe work by World of Warcraft blogs points to an early December release for the MMO's next expansion, Cataclysm.Text in the game files for for the next
Cataclysm beta patch reportedly tells us that season nine of the game's Arena PvP competition will kick off on December 14th. Elsewhere, a
forum post from a Blizzard staffer states that, "The next Arena Season will begin for level-85 players approximately one week after the official launch of
World of Warcraft: Cataclysm."
Taken together, those two facts point to a December 7th release for
Cataclysm - that's a Tuesday, the usual new release day for games in the States.
On top of all that, a WOW Insider
commenter has pointed to an
Azeroth Bulletin which included the assertion that, "the chance of any cataclysmic event taking place in the foreseeable future is 'less than 12.7%'". 12.7%, or perhaps '12/07', which is American for December 7th...
Obviously all this isn't 100% confirmed, but it's looking pretty good.
