In a rare move for any video game company, Konami has brought forward the Japanese release of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty. Originally scheduled for December 13, the game will now be released on November 29.
This move puts to bed beliefs that the game would suffer huge delays because of the World Trade Centre disaster. Konami is at present considering whether or not to include the doomed towers in the final product. This earlier release date suggests they will be included regardless.
Whatever, the new date bodes well for European PlayStation 2 owners waiting to get their hands on Snake. Expect to see Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty on sale in the UK early next year.
