Yorkshire-based developer Just Add Water has announced that it is working on a high-definition remake of Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath for the PS3, confirming what is hoped to be a "long and fruitful relationship" with Oddworld Inhabitants.
The updated adventure game will be released on the PlayStation Network and include enhanced 720p visuals, more detailed character models, re-mastered dialogue, bonus material and support for the PlayStation Move peripheral.
The PlayStation was last home to the Oddworld series back in 1998, with the release of Abe's Exoddus. It has appeared exclusively on Xbox platforms since then. Just Add Water's managing director, Stewart Gilray, sees the PS3 development as a "brilliant opportunity, not least for us, but for the fans too."
Oddworld fans will be pleased that this isn't a one-off - the studio revealed in July that it is working on a deal with Oddworld Inhabitants to revive the series and bring it onto multiple platforms.
