Rumour: Phantasy Star Online 2 in the Works?
Sega appears to be on something of a domain spending spree. Following the registration of Valkyria3.jp, the company has also renewed PSO2.jp - firing up rumours that a sequel to the Dreamcast classic Phantasy Star Online could be in development.

And no, the 2002 update Phantasy Star Online ver. 2 isn't PSO2, before you start.

The domain was originally registered in April 2009, but its existence has only just been reported recently with its renewal. Phantasy Star Zero producer Satoshi Sakai has mentioned a return to home consoles for the game's tenth anniversary - this seems to add weight to those plans.

Certainly, something's cooking, but whether it's anything to do with this domain name registration remains to be seen. We think it's about time we saw a return to the online multiplayer mechanics of the Dreamcast original, rather than the pretty damp experience that was Phantasy Star Universe. What do you think, readers?
