Remember G@me Network? Now the UK Gets Ginx 24/7 Gaming TV
The UK is to see another attempt at a 24/7 TV channel dedicated solely to computer games, with the launch of Ginx on cable and satellite services.

Ginx already has full 24/7 channels present in Turkey and Indonesia, and the company is also known for its UK programming. It is responsible for producing the games TV show, Game Face, which launched on Bravo in 2009.

Former president of MTV Europe and Showtime Arabia, Peter Einstein, chairs the Ginx company and seems to be following through on his ambitions to create a "music channel" out of computer games.

Quite how the 24/7 showcase of game reviews and features will be received remains to be seen - it appears one viewer didn't think much of Game Face when it launched, calling it "quite possibly the worst gaming TV show I have ever seen in my life."

All that besides, a rolling channel dedicated to games has been attempted before, with G@me Network launching in 2003 before becoming Babestation in 2006, dropping all gaming content altogether in favour of titties.

The Ginx channel will launch in November and initially be dedicated solely to providing game reviews.

I'd probably be the recluse cheats guy that lives in the basement and slaps level select codes onto his head.

(I know, I'm mixing shows, so what? :P)

Sadly, and due to circumstances arising from a Paper Boy incident some years ago this scenario is unlikely ever to play out.

SPOnG.tv though, eh? Mark would definitely be the Charlie Brooker of SPOnG...

Cheers

November has come and gone and GinX TV did not launch on cable or satellite in the European market.
