The HD remake of No More Heroes, titled Heroes Paradise, is to get a European release on the PlayStation 3 complete with Move support. The surprise? Konami is publishing the game, a fact that appears to have knocked Travis Touchdown creator SUDA51 off his feet.
News of the publication deal came out of Gamescom yesterday afternoon, but last night SPOnG had a chance to ask SUDA51 - real name Goichi Suda - what he thought about Konami's involvement.
"Wow! Really? ...Really!?" the Grasshopper Manufacture CEO exclaimed in English, with a massive smile on his face. "I don't know," he added before continuing his response in Japanese. "So, it's actually between Marvelous and Konami, a deal. So it's not really directly... we didn't directly communicate about that deal with Konami. We don't really have anything to do with the project."
The original No More Heroes on the Wii and its sequel, Desperate Struggle, were both published in Europe by Rising Star Games. Recently, Japanese software house Marvelous Interactive announced that it was breaking ties with the European publishing house in favour of selling IP rights to the highest bidder.
Seems like Konami was very interested in picking up the No More Heroes license, and no doubt its interest from a large international publisher has made SUDA51 very happy indeed - regardless of his lack of involvement in feelplus' HD upgrade.
