Capcom: Disney Doesn't Know What to Do With Marvel
Marvel vs Capcom 3 producer Ryota Niitsuma has revealed to SPOnG that Disney's recent acquisition of Marvel Comics has not affected the game's development - mainly because Disney doesn't know how to handle the company yet.

In an interview with SPOnG.com, Niitsuma-san explained how his team were "anticipating some sort of major announcement from Marvel" following Disney's buyout news. When nothing actually happened, it felt like "we wasted a bit of our nerves fearing the worst!"

"I actually met Disney Japan with the Marvel vs Capcom 3 team recently, just in case we were going to have a problem," Niitsuma revealed with a chuckle. "They basically said that although Marvel is under their umbrella, they're not really sure how they need to treat them. And that was just Disney Japan, so Disney on a global level probably haven't even started thinking about what to do with Marvel yet!"

Even so, we highly doubt Disney would actually object to the inevitable popularity of the crossover fighting game. Although Disney has had a very hands-off approach to the contractual proceedings, Niitsuma said that Capcom's agreement with Marvel for this title was the sole reason that it would not be seeing an arcade release in Japan.

You can read the rest of the interview later today.
