Zenimax Buys Arkane Studios for Bethesda
Bethesda and id Software owner Zenimax Media Inc has announced that it has acquired the veteran game developer - and Bioshock 2 collaborator - Arkane Studios.

The developer was founded in 1999 and is renowned for its work on the title Arx Fatalis as well as Dark Messiah of Might and Magic on the PC as well as acting as a collaborator on titles such as Bioshock 2. They are also currently working on an as of yet unannounced project with Bethesda Softworks.

One of the creative directors of Arkane Studios, Raphael Colantonio, had this to say of the recent acquisition:

“This is an exciting moment for Arkane. After 11 years of independent development, we couldn’t think of a better publishing partner,”

“We share so many creative values. Joining the ZeniMax family will allow us to grow stronger while staying true to the games we love.”

The developer will be joining the stable of such renowned developers as id Software and Bethesda Game Studios who Zenimax Media are the parent company of. We can hope that future projects and collaborations from these developers and Arkane Studios turn out to be exciting games for players that utilise their collective talents.
