It appears that Tekken 6's executive producer, Katsuhiro Harada, does not approve of the recent/upcoming (depending on where you live in the world) Tekken movie from Crystal Sky Pictures. When asked on Twitter about a strange plot twist in the film, Harada
responded with "that Hollywood movie is terrible. We were not able to supervise that movie (it was cruel contract) I'm not interested in that [movie]."
Ouch. For what it's worth, many Hollywood adaptations of computer games fail to get the creative input of the actual developers, but it's telling to see such a statement revealed publicly. Makes you wonder if there will ever be a Harada-approved movie in the future.
The
Tekken movie was released in US cinemas last November, and premiered in Japan in March. The UK will get a straight-to-DVD release this coming September.
