LucasArts Favours iPhone over PSP

Star Wars Force Unleashed II canned for PSP
Sony's PSP is not exactly revelling in popularity - especially since the launch of the ill-fated if forward-looking PSP Go. It's now received another punch on the proverbials from LucasArts.

A spokesman for the publisher has confirmed that Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II has been canned. The fact that the game had not been on recent release schedules had indicated as much. The confirmation, however, puts a dark cloud over the platform.

Breathe out! It's only been canned on the PSP though, it remains on the shipping lists for Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, DS, PC and iPhone on October 26, 2010.

Yes, the PSP is now apparently more difficult or less cost-effective to make a game for than the iPhone.

Aside from stating that the PSP release was dead, the spokesman remained tight lipped on detail when he spoke with IGN.

Shame because the first Unleashed game was quite good on the psp system. Seems Lucas Arts prefers the iphone, how that game will pan out with the touch screen controls is yet to be discovered. Well just hoping the psp games list for this year doesn't get any smaller.
Long live the psp!!

Is this due to the rampant piracy on PSP that is enabled by, so-called, homebrew enthusiasts?

It's probably got more to do with the "PSP games aren't selling hugely well" sort of a thing.

Cheers
