Lara Croft Hits the Road at Last
Lara Croft Way, the new road in Derby named after the Tomb Raider heroine back in February, is expected to be complete as a connecting ring road opens in the city tomorrow.

The name was chosen after more than 27,000 citizens of the area voted between various alternatives. 89% of those polled chose the gaming star over other names that included Griffon Way and Merlin Way. Lara Croft Way was suggested because Tomb Raider's creation lies in Derbyshire.

Lara Croft Way is to become the road connecting Osmaston Road to Burton Road. The rest of the as-yet completed route will be named Mercian Way, in honour of the local army regiment.
