Sonic the Hedgehog Convention Hits London a Third Time
Sonic the Hedgehog fans looking for a grand day out next month would do well to register for tickets to the Summer of Sonic convention in London - and quickly, as unforeseen demand for the free-to-attend event has resulted in a shortage of priority passes.

The convention - created by SPOnG's very own Sonic fan, Svend Joscelyne, and organised by a collaboration between fans and SEGA Europe - has grown in size over the last three years, and has been a hotspot for gamers to try unreleased Sonic titles and experience musical performances from various artists.

The Summer of Sonic 2010 takes place in The Pavilion in Shepherd's Bush, on the 7th August from 10:30am onwards. This year, popular rock duo Crush 40 will be present and performing title themes from Sonic Adventure, while Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles composer Jun Senoue will be performing acoustic versions of well-known tracks.

Demos of Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 and Sonic Colours will be there, along with a World Championship event for Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing. One of the leading artists for the 1990s Egmont Fleetway publication Sonic the Comic, Nigel Dobbyn, will also be in attendance. And on top of all that, the first people through the door with registered tickets in hand will receive a goody bag containing all sorts of Sonic merchandise.

Interested fans can enter the event in two ways. The simplest method is to register their details in advance on the website, which will get them a printable ticket to bring on the door for quick entry. Only those with a ticket will be allowed entry in the first hour of the event's opening - after that, you can enter and provide your details on the door, but with over 800 people already signed up for a venue that has a maximum capacity of 1000, room cannot be guaranteed for everyone.

If Sonic's your thing, and you want to see a horde of fans in one place, be sure to sign up before the registration page has to close up. And if you see Svend SPOnG, give him a little wave.
