DC Comics Jim Lee: Majority of People Play Video Games
Jim Lee, is a co-publisher at DC Comics and he's also executive creative director for Sony Online Entertainment's DC Universe Online". Yes, he's got a fantastic job. He's also got interesting views on the split between comics and video games.

He tells The Washington Post, "Not everyone reads comics, although most people know the major superheroes, but the majority of people play video games."

Yes, indeedy. But the two media love each other, "Games are a portal for us to bring new people into the world of comic books".

Good stuff.

We've got strong regular Beano, Ben10, Timmy Time, Transformers, Simpsons comics on the news stands, but no regular super hero kids comics. =P. What up with that?

That's one of the issues facing superhero comics - they're increasingly written for an older audience. That said, Marvel and DC (Marvel in particular) are making an increased effort to publish kid-friendly stuff. It just doesn't seem to be the stuff that finds its way onto newstands. Hopefully the Disney buyout of Marvel will see at least some of that stuff find its way out of specialist comic shops...
