A packshot for Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions appears to have revealed the fourth and final version of the webbed wonder set to appear in the game. It's a black-suited version of Spidey.
That black suit first appeared after Marvel's 1980s Secret Wars
crossover. It turned out to be a symbiotic alien that turned Spidey ever-darker before he shook it off and it went on to bond with Eddie Brock and form Venom.
So it could
be regular old Peter Parker from his darker days or Eddie Brock. More recently, however, the symbiote costume has been worn by Mac Gargan, formerly The Scorpion. He became a more-psychotic-than-ever Venom who posed as a dark Spider-Man. It could be that we're set to get a similarly-sinister Spider-Man in the game.
There's a San Diego Comic-Con session
on the game next Friday. It seems a good bet that we'll get confirmation about the whole thing then. For now, the officially-confirmed versions of Spidey are Amazing, Noir and 2099.
The packshot, spotted by Kotaku
, appeared on GameFly's website
. At the time of publication, however, GameFly's website was down.
