Sony Japan is readying a bunch of higher-capacity PlayStation 3 consoles for the country, to launch on the 29th June. The new units will be priced the same as the current 120GB model, meaning more memory for your buck (or yen).
The new capacities will be 160GB and 320GB, priced at ¥29,980 (~£225) and ¥34,980 (~£262) respectively. A new colour option will be introduced in the form of 'Classic White' to go alongside the 'Charcoal Black' models, with a 160GB capacity hard drive and a matching-colour DualShock 3 controller. White controllers and vertical stands will be available separately as well.
As for the soon-to-be-phased-out 120GB Charcoal Black model? Sony Japan has said that from tomorrow, pricing on the machine will be listed as "open" - meaning retailers can set whatever price they like to clear stock.
