Nintendo has been pretty vocal about how great its upcoming 3DS handheld is. But what does Sony think? Japanese newspaper Sankei spoke with SCE head Kaz Hirai about the device, which is to provide a different way of projecting 3D than its own solution on the PlayStation 3."In in-house research, naked eye 3D for portable machines is not high and there are presently limits for it," Hirai said - by contrast, Sony is relying heavily on the advances of 3DTV, which at this stage requires glasses to enjoy the pop-out technology.
Of course, having said that, Hirai hadn't checked out the Nintendo 3DS by the time that newspaper interview was conducted. Perhaps his opinion changed since having a proper hands on with the device... naaah.
