David Reeves, currently head of Capcom in Europe and previously MD of SCEE in the United Kingdom has not only outed the PSP2 in all but stating "it will be launched this year" he's also admitted that the PSP Go is struggling.Confirming the existence of the PSP2, Reeves responded to a question as to whether we would see the unit released within the next 12 months as follows:
"I'd like to the think it would be for the publishers and developers and consumers."
So, there it is then. A response such as "I have no knowledge of PSP2" or "I can't comment on that" would have fogged the issue.
Next up, the former SCEE MD owns up to his previous employer's failing with PSP Go.
"Sony tried to make the transition with PSPgo, I think that changed some consumers' attitudes, but they need to come back with something on PSP pretty quickly to stay in the game because Nintendo are s*** hot at getting these things right. And they always get these things right.
"It was hard and it was very, very expensive. Now they're offering 10 games and they have to try and revive it."
