Shigeru Miyamoto has revealed more on the upcoming Wii Zelda game, titled Skyward Sword - and you'll be using your arms to swing your sword and raise your shield.
The game will use the Wii Motion Plus peripheral to provide "1:1 movement" - but on stage, Miyamoto's arm movements weren't greatly represented on the video. Nintendo's Bill Trinen blamed the issue on stage 'technical difficulties'.
What did work looked impressive however. Deku Babas have to be defeated by slashing the sword in the direction of their mouths. Octoroks will require deft use of your shield - performed by raising the Nunchuk - to bounce back projectiles. Best of all, the graphics look beautifully cel-shaded, and colourful to boot; it seems like a good mix between the cartoony Wind Waker and the adult Twilight Princess.
Items are accessed in a virtual pocket, which can be opened by pressing B, and many gadgets can be used with the A and C buttons - new and returning toys include the Slingshot, Bow and Arrows, a Beetle that flies around collecting items and a whip. Saucy.
Miyamoto finished his presentation of Skyward Sword by announcing that development may well be continuing throughout the next year - so expect a 2011 release for this one.
