Dizzee Rascal To Feature In Def Jam Rapstar

But only in the UK version, mind. France and Germany, you have your own hip hop legends.

That's not Dizzee Rascal. Obviously.
That's not Dizzee Rascal. Obviously.
Konami and Autumn Games have announced an initial tracklist for Def Jam Rapstar, featuring country-specific exclusive tracks from artists such as Dizzee Rascal and Tinie Tempah.

Dizzee's Fix Up, Look Sharp and Tinie's Pass Out will be available only in the UK version of the game, while in France budding rappers can enjoy the beats of NTM's Ma Benz and Sefyu's Molotov 4. German players will get Sido's Mein Block and Kool Savas' Futurama all up in their hood.

The other announced tracks will be present in all territories, and include 2Pac's I Get Around, 50 Cent's I Get Money and Notorious B.I.G's Juicy on top of some other hip-hop classics. Time for a quote, we think.

Kevin Liles, President and CEO of Def Jam Enterprises, you're up on da mic; “As I continue to travel the globe, I’m always amazed how hip hop has impacted youth culture in every country around the world. Each territory is creating their own movement, style, artists, and songs that resonate with the hip hop experience in their respective country. Hip-Hop is global, therefore Def Jam Rapstar must also be global, and provide local content providers the opportunity to represent hip hop in their own language in their own voice.”

Well said, that man. Konami is hoping that the Def Jam brand, experience of developer 4mm and collaboration with Autumn Games will give it a greater foothold in the music genre of computer games. At least, after DanceDanceRevolution's waning popularity and the emergence of Guitar Hero and Rock Band, it should be. At least Rapstar has the potential to be much better than Get On Da Mic.
